Dear Friend,
You have this vast ocean within you; right now, it might only be made of blues. Right now, you might not see that light on the horizon. Your expansiveness might be a bit limited. You might be too focused to see it all. And yet that limitless ocean exists. It waits for nothing but remains for you - always extending an open invitation. Dive under the surface and marvel at the mystery that awaits. You will surely see that there is more than you could ever have imagined; your ocean is home to many colorful thoughts, inspired designs, and magic. It’s an invitation to a world only you create or co-create with this Universe, depending upon how you see it. And our planet needs more wondrous oceans to explore. At any time, you could offer someone an invitation to step inside, swim in the waters of your heart, fall in love with unique ideas gliding along, dance in light that streams down upon everything, then surface and laugh so loud it bounces off the clouds above while pondering delights that live on the horizon.
Forgive me, for it’s been some time since I stepped into this beautiful spa. When my loved one faced an unexpected health crisis, we were swept up in a cyclone that churned inside layers of uncertainty and pain and all else fell away. Behind forced smiles for public consumption there lived many characters from angry tears (I imagine them with small fists of rage falling through dark skies) to hungry learners (think: bookworms seeking soul-healing knowledge). As things began to improve and we resurfaced, I realized that while we used hope as a buoy, there had been little in the sense of joy around us. The same can be said about our society and our world as there feels like there’s a lack of hope, joy and, even wonder, right now.
Blind, I am not. I see the issues in our world just as I saw the issues with my loved one but does that mean that we must forget the beauty, hope, or laughter that also exists? What I’ve come to see is that life without beauty, laughter, playfulness and joy - even when things are extremely serious, scary and challenging - is soul-crushing. Much like oxygen, we need these things for our very survival. Without a balance, we lose all.
And so I have been spending time with artist’s work, reading stories and playing because that allows me to heal and have more understanding and patience. Art - whether it is in learning about it, viewing it or creating it allows greater resilience, openness, connection, and love to grown within and around us. This spa started as a space to bask in creativity, exploration, joy, connection and love and I am going to begin to bring forth much more of that no matter what comes my way. This is the start.
So today, I invite you to think about the ocean that exists within you. What color are its waters? What lies behead the surface? Are you moving slowly through the waters like a shark or leaping into the air like a dolphin?
Sink into your creative heart and let its beauty spill over us all.
Love,
Natasha
Oh how I've missed this. As I read this, I found myself hearing your voice, you were reading it to me. With your timely pauses, your questioning eyes, your smile! And that laughter that lights up a room!! I'm sorry you've been dealing with so much and I'm happy you've come back to this space to heal and share. I treasure these entries into this space, more than I ever realized.
