Day 5 of The 10 Days of Joyful Expression series
Happy Sunday, wildly creative one!
On the 5th day of The 10 Day Days of Joyful Expression series, I share a painting that reminded me of the beauty of getting off screens and delighting in the real world.
In this piece, I celebrate one of my favorite things in this world - sunsets. There is nothing more beautiful to me than watching the sky’s colors get painted and re-painted moment by moment as the end of the day. Though I often work to capture what I see with my camera, it never completely captures the depth and brilliance of the colors. I honestly believe that sky colors are not meant to be captured but instead savored in our minds and hearts forever.
As a color lover, the best I can do when I come to the page is to honor the colors that live in my memory. In this, I tried to create the colors I’d seen swirling through the sky and this time, I added words. I began my career as a writer and words work their way into so much of what I create.
Prompt: Today, I invite you to step outside at sunset and simply watch the sky. Don’t do anything at all except enjoy the colors as they fade one into the other until the stars appear.
Before I depart, I’m thrilled to share that my painting, Connection, has found a lovely new home. Whenever I create, my hope is to bring joy, connection and love into people’s lives. When someone loves my work, that’s everything to me. I’m so honored and excited to send this painting out into the world to be loved! Thank you from my heart.
